NIRDA Hosts Open Calls Workshops
In July 2018 four workshops were held in Rwamagana (Eastern Province), Kigali and Kibuye (Western Province) to provide direction and advice for those applying to the 2018 Open Call for the Banana Wine and Garments industries. Through the Open Calls, NIRDA wants to support Rwandan enterprises to grow and be more competitive. The workshops provided information on the Open Call process, advice and direction for applying, and gave potential participants the opportunity to engage directly with NIRDA staﬀ.
Quality Management Systems Training Sessions
NIRDA held an open application for production managers in the Banana Wine and Garments industries for a Quality Management System workshop. Held on January 22nd-23rd and January 30th-31st respectively, the QMS workshops saw more than 50 participants from each industry. The workshops were facilitated by the Rwanda Standards Board, and participants from the Banana Wine industry were equipped with knowledge on sanitation and hygiene in their factories and both industries were educated on quality control, health and safety concerns for employees and were made aware of export and import policies in Rwanda.
