Firms which have entered the 2nd phase of Rwanda Industrial Research and Development Agency (NIRDA)’s Open Calls program have acquired training on marketing and packaging concepts to improve the way they do business.
Taking place in Musanze district, the two-day workshop brings together managers, marketers and technicians in packaging engaged in Fruits and vegetables value chain from both Northern and Western Provinces.
It covers marketing concepts, brand development, customer relationship and packaging concepts among others.
Firms were selected in the ongoing Open calls Program competition 2acquire upgraded equipment to improve competitiveness and productivity to compete on local and international markets.
NIRDA’s Open Calls seeks to help selected enterprises to acquire upgraded equipment to improve competitiveness and productivity to produce more quality and quantity that can compete on local and international markets.
Through the open calls program, winners also need to be equipped with marketing and management skills to better their services, get more clients and boost their business
Speaking on behalf of NIRDA, Amandin Musirikare,Program Operations Specialist said marketing and packaging skills are very crucial to potential Open Calls Winners and one of the institution’s responsibility was to build firms’ capacity in the mentioned fields.
Participants have hailed NIRDA for organizing such a training saying that it was long overdue adding that it equips them with necessary skills that will help them improve the way they do marketing and how they package their products
